Trey Songz has come a long way from those days of wearing cornrow braids and singing ‘Can’t Help But Wait.’  He’s stepped his grown man up tremendously.
This week, he stepped out on the red carpet looking dapper in a suit and his best accessory — his mom, as he was honored by the Recording Academy for improving the environment and creative community.  His mentor and manager Kevin Liles was up front and center to present the award to Trey, and his good friend Ne-Yo sang a tribute to him for being an artist who encourages education and professional development for The Recording Academy New York Chapter.   His Trey’s Angels must be proud!
