Keri Hilson Promotes Over The Counter HIV Test Read more: Necole Bitchie.com: Keri Hilson Promotes Over The Counter HIV Test

Keri Hilson, dressed in a multi-colored blazer, was about her business yesterday, as she made a few press rounds to raise awareness for National HIV Testing Day in New York City.  Dressed in a multi-colored blazer, she was spotted leaving the BET Networks offices after her appearance on 106 and Park where she promoted OraQuick, a new over the counter HIV testing kit that allows you to test for the virus from the comfort of your own home.
She told Bow Wow and Angela Simmons:
HIV is not really talked about but it’s the #1 killer of African-American girls from ages 16-34. Number one. Not a car accident, not cancer. Forget everything else. It’s HIV and AIDS, so we want to encourage people to get tested and know their status.
She also dished that African American women are 20 times more likely to catch the virus but it’s so taboo, that no one wants to talk about it openly in the community anymore.
Do you know your status? OraQuick is the same HIV test that doctors have used over the past decade and is now available in all drugstores.  Results are available in 20 minutes or less.
Catch a few more flicks and video below:
