PHOTOS: 13 MOST TALENTED GHANAIAN MUSICIANS YET ‘SNUBBED’ BY GHANAIANS

How would you feel when you think you are doing your very best but nobody is recognizing your effort? There is a new term called ‘Shatta Wale-ing’. I’m sure we all know what Shatta Wale did to get to the limelight, sad to say he’s not the only one who has done that in the past, we have artists like Kwaw Kese, Rex Omar, R2Bees and more who ‘Shatta Wale-ed’ to get awards and fame. Does that mean that one have to put it in the face of Ghanaians in order to make it?
Our list below will take you through some of the most underrated artists who we feel deserve more attention than they are getting. We hope that people will hold them in high esteem and their talents will be exploited by Ghanaians. Check out the list by clicking next.
D-Black’s protege, Joey B can twist words and fuse them in style. The only reason why I and a lot of people listened to D-Black’s ‘Vera’ song is because of this guy. His song, ‘Strawberry Ginger’ made it and to us he’s one of the most underrated artists in Ghana. He’s got songs like Chop Kenkey, Azonto Bomb, Bendedicta and more .. Joey B is one of the artists I would call the ‘FUTURE’
He was my all time favorite dancehall artist but it’s sad how a particular person can kill someone’s career like it didn’t even matter in the first place. IWAN has lost his grove no doubt but his dancehall/reggae vibe is one to talk about. He once had the number one dancehall song ‘Who’s BAD’ which was a club banger. IWAN makes it in our underrated artists list.
Asem used to be on top of his game, he was once the ‘Sarkodie’ of the moment. He and his ‘Lynx’ team took Ghana by storm. Various reasons like his infamous rape case and him splitting with his team which killed both of them, has made him one of the talented yet underrated artists of the moment. He has written songs for artists like Richie, Ireneand more. Today he gets no recognition for his good works like ‘Bye Bye’ and even his ‘Wasted‘ music video.
Stonebwoy to me is one of the best reggae artists in Ghana whether we like it or YES. What could be the reason why Stonebwoy is not getting the love that he deserves? He has so many songs to his credit like Pull Up, Ghetto Love, Climax and many more .. What else does Stonebwoy have to do before getting to the top?
C-Real is one of the best rappers in Ghana, he mixes Ewe, Twi and English in his rap, what more? His videos too are on point. I wonder what he’s doing wrong but I feel he deserve more than what he’s getting now. Just listen to his ‘Hewale‘ song and tell me if he’s good or super good.
She’s new in the game, but I feel she’s too talented for Ghana. Her videos and songs will prove me right. The last time I checked, Noella Wiyaala had countless songs and her 2 recent songs made it to my personal playlist. I know it will take time but let’s show her love … no new artist does it better.
Kwesi Trigga owns one of my all-time favorite songs titled ‘My Story’. The sad part is, this guy has been doing music since Hammers time, he has been on countless Hammer compilation songs. I’m surprised till date, he hasn’t made it to the big stages. It’s hard out here mehn …
Trigmatic is versatile, that is what everybody says, but what caused him from loosing it? He raps, he sings, he writes, he ragga, what else? He has released so many songs that I’m sure  if he was from elsewhere other than Ghana, he would have been a top rated artist by all standards.
Guru was snubbed at the recently held Ghana music awards, reason being, someone somewhere said he was not fit to be there, after all the attention his ‘Lapaz Toyota’ song got, welcome to Ghana. One thing I love about Guru is, he shoots so many videos and most of them are good videos. Check out his ‘Nkwadaa Nkwadaa‘ video for instance. His last performance I watched, was excellent.
EL makes the best music videos in Ghana, his stage craft is also on point, yet EL is NOT getting the attention he’s supposed to get. So far his accomplishments are just massive. He has performed at various big stages including the Big Brother Africa house. EL deserves way better for an artist of his caliber.
This guy is not a musician but his accomplishments this short-while makes him a part of this list, Did you dance to Raquel’s ‘Sweetio’, Edem’s ‘Over Again’, Jupitar’s ‘Money Box’, RnM’s ‘Simple Girl’? If your answer is yes then thank this man, Genius Selections, he is so talented to the extent that I’m out of words for his extra ordinary beats. He needs to be hailed as one of the best producers of our time. But not a single nomination after all his input .. maybe someday
I bet you didn’t know that Jayso wrote almost all the songs on Sarkodie’s first album, yes he’s talented and creative like that. He sings, he raps, he makes ‘DOPE’ beats. I bet you haven’t checked out his recent video ‘I’m In Love With Your Girlfriend‘. That will leave you in awe. I think one day Ghanaians would have to beg Jayso to bring his creativityinto the industry. Dude is just too much talented to be a Ghanaian.

Chase makes it as our number one on this list and the reason is, this guy has written songs for a lot of people from Mimi to Richie to Efya to Q. Ra and more. Chase is simply the king of R&B in Ghana but not to the average Ghanaian. I personally rate him high above all … Show this guy some respect because when his time comes, I’m sure not even Usher nor Justin Timberlake can stop him.

Do you think our list is fair? Let us know your opinion ….
