K. K Fosu Cries For Royalties

Kaakyire Kwame Fosu known in the music circles as K.K, Fosu over the weekends has descended on Ghana Association of Music Right Owners (GHAMRO) for not paying him royalties.
“” Up till now I have not got my royalties from GHAMRO despite all the good songs I have released on the music market. I don’t also understand this issue, when someone records’ five demo recordings and another person does five albums, they both earn the same royalties, ‘’he lamented.
K.K also bemoaned the increasing use of profane lyrics in Ghanaian songs and asked powers that be to put in stringent measures to reduce the phenomenon to the barest minimum.
Speaking to Flex Newspaper he said: ‘’in fact, I am appealing to MUSICGA and GHAMRO to screen some songs very well before they allow it to be aired in the country”. Now if you listen and watch our radio and television stations respectively, you will see that most that most of the songs, of today are profane and must not be allowed to be played anywhere in the country. We must get a committee like Ghana Music Police which will be responsible for the screening of songs before comes out. They should be checking on our radio and television stations so that media people do not play any profane songs on their network and any station which goes against the law should be brought to book.
Explaining what specifically the music police would do, KK said: “The Ghana Police will be working like the National Security which will check the quality of music, choice of lyrics, kind of music, whether there are insult in the music among others. MUSIGA and GHAMRO must implement this law as soon as possible for the betterment of the music industry as well as the people in the country because now the government is ready to help the music industry and for that matter, we must also help ourselves” He added. He was grateful to his funs all over the world for supporting his music and edge them to keep listening to his songs especially his new hits like ‘Me Ho Asem’, ‘Odo Wo Nti’, ‘Bo Wo Ho Ban’ (Road Accident Awareness Song) whilst asking them to watch out for more surprises from his camp.
