The judges and organisers of the MTN Hitmaker show will on Friday, July
12 unveil the final 12 contestants for the reality TV show.
“It wasn’t easy reducing the numbers because of the talent on display.
These guys came prepared and they are making our work more and more difficult.
But since it is a competition we still have to make sure we choose only
12 so that will definitely happen on Friday,” Bessa Simons said in an
interview.
The MTN Hitmaker season two has a prize package of a recording and
artiste management deal worth GH¢100, 000.00 for the winner and GH¢50,
000.00 for the first runner-up. The third and fourth-placed winners will
also receive some handsome prizes.
Introduced last year, the show aims at identifying, grooming and
supporting young aspiring artistes to record their own music and turning
them into stars.
Judges for the competition are Bessa Simons, a seasoned producer and
keyboardist who is also the vice president of the Musicians Union of
Ghana (MUSIGA), Ofie Kodjoe, a renowned singer and composer and Zapp
Mallet, Ghana’s celebrated sound engineer and producer.
