Mark Okraku Mantey, a judge on TV3?s Mentor reality show has slammed Criss Waddle’s ‘ayi’ track, categorizing it as one of those songs of no moral value to the youth of Ghana.
The CEO of Slip music made the remark when he was passing comments on a performance by one of the contestant’s; Gabby who performed OJ’s ‘may3 s3 mo p3n’.
According to Mark, OJ had risen high in Ghanaian music and has learnt a lot both in life and music hence that master piece ‘may3 s3 mo p3n’.
Gabby who won the hearts of judges Mark and Dominic didn’t regret performing that song as both judges applauded him for the wonderful delivery.
OMG!Ghana gathered that ‘reservative’ Okraku Mantey
has been a huge lover of the ‘wisdom-speaking’ Ghanaian high-life music
and as such has taken keen interest in the lyrics and rhythm of songs.
Criss Waddle made a loud entry unto Ghana’s music scene with his ‘ayi’ track in 2012 which received massive airplay.
Mark Okraku Mantey emphasized the youth needed to appreciate songs such as ‘may3 s3 mo p3n’ which has lots of moral
lessons while challenging them to tow such line in order to restore
‘morality’ in the kind of music that are heared on various media.
TV3 Mentor reality show is on TV3 every Sunday at 8:00pm.
